A Little About Me |
Merry Meet and well come to my web site.I suppose I should tell you a little about myself, after all, just who is this Lionrhod person, ranting and raving about spellcraft, priesthood & whatever, right? So here goes:
Some of my earliest career wishes were to be a wizard and a priestess. I was raised on faery tales by agnostic parents and Athiest grandparents, and then was accused of being "too imaginative." One of my favorite picture books featured fabulous painting of a sorceress (and gory pictures of skulls and ravens on a city wall), and somehow I found a role-model there. Around the age of 9 I read Maid of Artemis (presently out of print), set in Ancient Greece, about a girl spending a year at that Lady's temple. At the time I had no idea that priestessing (or wysardry) was a viable career move. I'm thrilled that I now look about me and find I have the potential to be everything I ever wanted. At the age of 15, my Mom's best friend, a Quaker woman, gave me a copy of Spiral Dance. I studied in solitary for 15 years. On the way home from a traumatic day of going house to house seeking a lost cat, my Mom & I stopped at a friend's house and were invited to stay for Moon Circle. (I knew he was a witch, but had been too shy to ask for teaching.) I stayed with that coven (Eclectic Faery) for about 1 1/2 years and then moved to Florida, near Orlando, where you don't have to shovel the humidity out of the driveway. A stint with the Brotherhood and Sisterhood of Wicca (sort of Gardnarian with a fam-trad twist) didn't work well for me. As much as I loved the people there, the path didn't fit. Meanwhile, I became very active in the local Pagan community, and was eventually elected as a Board Member of our local Wiccan Church.
About 1998, I quit my job working as one of those nasty people who call you during dinner and harrass you to change your phone company (hey, it's a living!) and am now full time self-employed. I write & administrate webpages, make jewelry, run/aministrate/am a slave to several website: Lionrhod.com, my web design site, OakRaven.com, a site belonging to an incredibly dear friend who has done some fabulous PHP programming for me , Martrildonno Jewelry Designs at SeriousSilver.com, design and sell metaphysical jewelry on eBay and other auctions in fact, I've begun creating my own original talisman designs and work as a professional psychic, doing conventions and reading for the Psychic Hourglass. Also I teach public classes on magick theory and application at a metaphysical store in Orlando. You can learn about my teaching schedule here. I'm a big believer in Pagan Prosperity, and attribute magickal mindset to my ability to stay self-employed. In my (chortle) spare time, I work on my several books-in-progress; study magick; and spend way too much time on the web, talking to some special people. LOL and on learning to bend time to my will! Recently I've been studying hypnosis as well, and I am now certified by the American Board of Hypnotherapy. For a fantastic site on hypnosis, check out my friend Dean Montalbano's site Hypnosis - a WORLD of TRANCE formation Philosophically, I'm a believer in honesty, responsibility and proactivity. We can be and have anything we want providing we 1) believe we can 2) work for it 3) accept the consequences -- which aren't always bad. We create the world we live in. Well, now that all that's done, I invite you to go back to my pages and read the interesting stuff.
