To
seek and find the Dragon, both inside and without ** To
tread light upon the Earth and seek to keep Her whole, To
seek to harm none, by my word or deed, To
give my word rarely, and hold to it fast Finding
in my triumphs the courage to proceed, To
strive to create balance in everything I touch To
know that life's not black or white, but many shades of grey To
look past the obvious and seek into the core To
know that the greatest strength comes from facing fear To
follow my own path, whether broad or over grown Yet
in keeping my own way, may I not trod the others down A
shoulder on which to cry, and hand to hold in strength A
teacher and a healer, birthing through life's pains And
yet in my giving, I shall not give till I have none To
give not from emptiness, nor to stave away strife To
spread community and build cooperation But
those who ask not of me, or if their path is not mine And
let me yet be humble, for I've much growing too, And
through this web of wisdom, one brightest thread I see
*in Draconian tradition, the title "Priest" is not necessarily gender-specific. Women may refer to themselves as "priest" or as "priestess". As for men . . . hey, whatever. Back
